Roger Lancelyn Green (28 October 1912 - 2 December 1991) was a British historian, biographer and essayist. He was educated at Winchester College, the University of Manchester and Trinity College, Cambridge. His post-war career was at the BBC where he presented a series of historical documentaries including "The World of Yesterday". He published 14 books, of which his biography of "Tiger" Smith is considered a classic
